TOBACCO DEPENDENCE SERVICES

Bucks County Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. recognizes that nicotine is an addictive drug, and addiction to nicotine causes health problems and death. The Council is proud to be a provider of tobacco control services. Since 2001, The Council has provided a variety of programs and services to reduce tobacco smoke pollution, support tobacco-free workplaces, reduce youth access to tobacco, and aid those who wish to quit. Our services are funded by the Health Promotion Council, Inc. and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Our services include:

·        Clean Air For Healthy Children and Families – A smoking cessation counseling training program targeted towards health care professionals who care for pregnant women, mothers, care givers of young children, families, teens, and others.

·        Quitnet Bucks County www.quitnet.com - Online support and information that helps smokers quit – Free to residents of Bucks County, PA.

·        Tobacco Free Worksites – Consultation and education for employers and employees on tobacco-free living and tobacco free worksites.

·        Retail Tobacco Sales Compliance Checks – Ongoing checks to ensure that merchants do not sell tobacco products to those under the age of 18.

·        MOMS (Mothers Overcoming Mood-Altering Substances) – An outreach program for pregnant or recently pregnant women which supports alcohol, tobacco, and other drug-free living.
