TREATMENT ACCOUNTABILITY FOR SAFER COMMUNITIES
The link between street crime and alcohol
and/or drug abuse is substantial. Breaking the cycle of
addiction can often keep people from criminal activity. TASC
provides an important link between the criminal justice
system and the drug and alcohol community.
TASC permits individuals who meet strict criteria to
enter treatment for substance abuse. This alleviates
pressure on the courts and helps those individuals get
their lives back on the right track.
TASC clients are identified and assessed to determine
their need for treatment and potential for achieving
success. Accepted individuals are referred to appropriate
facilities and programs where they are carefully monitored.
Participation is on a voluntary basis only and cannot be
used to avoid the consequences of a criminal offense.
Statistics for Fiscal Year ended June 30, 2005
