Schools with Student Assistance Programs (SAP) have a trained
team of school personnel available to assist the student and
family in identifying problems that impact on the students
ability to function in school, and to offer assistance in
alleviating these problems.
Student Assistance Programs (SAP) have been established in
schools throughout Pennsylvania with the cooperative support
of the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Health and Welfare.
Training Center - The School Services Program also offers a
unique and broad variety of workshops, support groups and
professional trainings that can improve your health, well-being
and knowledge base. For more information on trainings scheduled
or available, click here.
The Council was privileged to be part of the planning
support and assessment services to one of the original
four SAP pilot schools in Pennsylvania.
We are the central referral point for 49 Student Assistance Teams in Bucks County, and have provided
mental health, and drug/alcohol consultation and
assessment services to schools since 1983.
The Council has been a state-approved SAP training
provider since its inception. Our training staff has
extensive experience and became part of the developmental
struggles, changes and growth of this dynamic program.
Our hands-on experience brings realistic and practical
approaches to all of our Student Assistance training
and technical assistance programs.
Statistics for Fiscal Year ended June 30, 2006. Over 1,000 student prevention
group participants. Over 350 students assessed.
